Since beginning her professional career in 1996, Huiling Tan has worked across professional dance training, performance, choreography, curriculum development, arts education, research and adjudication.
TEACHING & CURRICULUM LEADERSHIP
Tan spent decades teaching core professional subjects including Chinese classical dance fundamentals, Chinese folk dance, shenyun, technical skills and rehearsal.

Participated in writing the five-year fundamentals training syllabus for the Dance Department of Jiangxi Vocational College of Art.
Helped connect arts specialists with 22 primary and secondary schools in Nanchang, introducing nearly 40 experts into school arts classrooms.
Spent 16 years working in children’s Chinese dance grading and examination, providing evaluation, teaching feedback and professional guidance across Jiangxi.

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
Students taught and coached by Tan have continued their studies at institutions including Beijing Dance Academy, Shanghai Theatre Academy, Beijing Normal University, Nanjing University of the Arts, Shanghai Normal University and the Chinese National Academy of Arts.
RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS
Her research and essays have appeared in publications including 《影剧创作》, 《大舞台》, 《艺术教育》 and 《影剧新作》.
She has also been repeatedly invited to serve as a judge for professional dance competitions and provincial dance entrance examinations.
2022 → PRESENT · UNITED STATES
In 2022, Tan immigrated to the United States through the EB-1 category and began her U.S. teaching career.
